Livvie When I decided to start my very first web site, BizyBodies.com, one of my biggest problems was the thought of having to learn HTML, Hypertext Markup Language, the code used for creating a lot of the information you see on the web pages. I don't know about you, but when I want to do something....I want to do it now! Ok, OK, I know patience is a virtue and I have patience. As a matter of fact, I have lot's of patience because I've hardly used any of mine! Awhile back I had taken a week-end course in Web Design, which really was a course in HTML and had realized, right from the start, HTML was not for me. So I knew I had to find another way if I was going to create a web site. After much research I found several hosts that offered software that allows you to create your own pages, without knowing any HTML. I first tried http://www.geocities.com. You are actually going through Yahoo for this host. GeoCities has a very good software program that allows you to build your web site without HTML knowledge, however, at the time if your site was to be a business site (selling product) you could not "sell" (take payments) at GeoCities unless you used their "StoreFront" package. Another source was http://www.hypermart.com. They also offer a software program that doesn't require HTML knowledge. They have templates to choose from also. The source I choose was http://www.homestead.com. They offer various background colors, different types of fonts, clip-art, banners, and elements you can choose from Homestead or those you want to "import" from your computer. You can even add music. There is a complete line of "bells and whistles" to make your site, uniquely "your site". What I enjoyed the most was the flexibility and how easy the program was to learn. The menu consists of icons that are almost self-explanatory. What is really great is that Homestead requires no special skills, and no knowledge of HTML. They even have a "free" web page area as well as a "paid" area for creating your pages. So, if HTML's the reason you have been using for not starting your Web site, visit http://www.homestead.com to see just how quick and easy it is to create your site. Then start creating, because.....You Can Create A Website Without Knowing HTML! See you on the web....
