Social Media Success Summitt Comes To A Close
Wow! There was so much information shared during the month long, virtual Social Media Success Summitt. The speakers presented on the many facets of Social Media (SM) with a focus on the main four: Blogging, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. This is some of the information shared regarding Facebook.
Mari Smith, relationship specialist, presented on Facebook (FB) and Twitter. Mari, herself, is an icon for SM with a personality that comes across the screen as warm, frendly, and ready to help. In fact, she’s quick to tell you it’s Relationships 1st and Business 2nd!
Mari shared techniques for setting up your Profile (Friend) page and your Business (Fan) page. Fan pages can be created by going to the very bottom of the page to the Advertising link. Then after reading the step x step directions, go to the top of the page and click on page beside the Yellow Flag.
This can be confusing, but following the directions makes it easier. I actually had two browsers up so I could follow step by step.
In completing your Bio, Mari suggested filling in your information in the 1st person and to include the http:// in the links to make sure it’s picked up as an active link.
When choosing your “Core Message” you want to:
- Establish yourself as a thought leader in your target area
- Further your brand
- Have relevance
- Be consistent
- Focus
As previously noted, it’s Relatioships 1st and Business 2nd. “When marketers move in, members move out.” Mari said. Be a member not a marketer.
Other features included importing your Blog to FB and also being able to add an Opt-In box for your newsletter.
Develop radical, strategic, visibility. Be everywhere:
- In all the right places
- To all the right people
- At all the right times
Mari says it’s a four part formula:
- Quality Network (Target market associated with)
- Quality Content (Your brand, your time)
- Consistency
- Genuine + Authentic + Passionate + Caring = Profitable Relationships!
We’ve heard the saying, “People don’t care how much you know till they kow how much you care!” Now isn’t that what it’s really all about?
